On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.- Matthew 2:11 The Only Response to Jesus is Worship When the wise men encounter Jesus- their immediate response is to worship him. The normal response to Jesus is worship. What is worship? It is simply the act of acknowledging Jesus for who he is. Who is Jesus? Son of God. (1 John 4:15) Jesus is Lord. (Romans 10:9) Jesus is Savior.(Acts 4:12, Isaiah 53:5) Jesus is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6, Colossian 3:15) Jesus is the Giver and Perfecter of faith (Mark 10:27) Jesus is the Perfect Sacrifice (Ephesians 5:2, Mark 10:44-45) … and so much more! When you encounter Jesus your whole being exalts him for who he is. When you encounter the one who has given you everything, your natural response is to give him your everything. If that’s not how you’re encountering Jesus- then you are missing who he is. Pull up spotify and pump some Christmas music today.
